  • Incorporate Morning Exercise Rituals
  • Maintain Familiar Bedtime Routines
  • Adhere to Regular Eating Schedules

Leverage Technology for Routine Calls

Keeping a routine for my kids while traveling is crucial. One method that’s been effective is using technology to our advantage. We schedule video calls with family members during our usual at-home hours, ensuring the kids stay connected and grounded. This digital routine not only helps maintain a sense of normalcy but also brings a piece of home to wherever we are, making the transition smoother for them and us.

Incorporate Morning Exercise Rituals

While on the road, ensuring my kids have some normalcy is crucial. Our go-to routine involves morning exercises. Whether it’s stretching, a quick walk, or a simple yoga session, starting the day with physical activity sets a positive tone. This ritual not only keeps us energized but also provides a consistent start to the day, mirroring our home routine. It’s a great way to bond and keep everyone’s spirits high, regardless of where we are.

Maintain Familiar Bedtime Routines

One great way to handle this is to stick to the same bedtime routine you use at home, from reading their favorite books and snuggling with their special sleep buddies to wrapping them up in their beloved blankets. By keeping these nightly traditions going, you give them a familiar and secure feeling even when you’re on the go.

Adhere to Regular Eating Schedules

We try to stick to our normal eating schedule when traveling. It’s not always feasible since the rest of our schedule is different, but I do try to keep an eye on the clock and make sure some sort of food is available at their normal eating times, even if it’s just a hearty snack. I’ve found this prevents us all from getting “hangry” or forgetting to eat altogether if we’re having fun.
