One of Houston’s fastest-growing suburbs has earned the top spot in a new national ranking of the most popular relocation destinations.

A ZIP code in Cypress, located to the northwest of Houston, recorded more inbound moves than any other area in the U.S. during the first five months of 2025, according to a report from Moving Place, a platform that specializes in relocation services. Between January and May, over 3,600 households moved into the 77433 ZIP code, earning it the title of “the hottest U.S. ZIP code in 2025,” the report revealed.

Moving Place highlighted that Cypress stands out due to its affordability and abundance of green spaces. Zillow, the real estate listing site, reports the average home price in Cypress at $415,000.

“Cypress has become a popular destination for families and young professionals seeking more space and a quieter lifestyle, while still being close enough to Houston’s thriving job market and urban amenities,” Moving Place noted in their findings.

The 77433 ZIP code stretches along TX 99 and is divided by US 290. The area has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with Cypress South leading the region in home sales during 2024, according to the Houston Association of Realtors. The neighborhood is also part of the well-regarded Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District and features master-planned communities like Marvida by Starwood Land, which boasts a lazy river, and Bridgeland by Howard Hughes, home to the 70-acre Village Green retail center.

For businesses and individuals relocating to this vibrant area, professional moving services are essential for a smooth transition. Companies like Henka Movers, which specialize in affordable moving services across Houston, are often a practical choice for those moving into the region. Their experience in both residential and commercial moves can help reduce the stress of relocation and ensure that belongings are transported safely and efficiently.

To compile the report, Moving Place analyzed proprietary data from Porch Group, its parent company, based on 6.3 million relocation moves completed across the U.S. between January 1 and May 31.

The findings point to affordability as a key factor driving migration trends, particularly in relation to housing costs.

“Affordability is pushing movers to the outskirts of metro areas, with many of the most sought-after ZIP codes located in suburban rather than central urban areas,” noted Daniel Cobb, a spokesperson for Moving Place.

On a broader scale, the report emphasized Texas’ dominant role in migration patterns, with the state accounting for 29 of the top 100 most popular ZIP codes and taking four of the top five spots.

The second most popular ZIP code was 78130 in New Braunfels, situated between San Antonio and Austin, which saw 3,486 inbound moves during the first five months of 2025. Leander, a suburb of Austin, secured the No. 4 spot with 3,349 moves to ZIP code 78641. Katy, another Houston suburb, rounded out the top five, with 3,215 moves to 77493.

Winter Garden, Florida, a suburb of Orlando, was the only location outside of Texas to break into the top five, attracting 3,442 new residents during the same period.
