Aviation operators often manage a complex mix of safety protocols, compliance tasks, and document tracking, work that rarely stops when crews leave the office. Nimbl’s newly launched mobile app aims to address that challenge by bringing essential safety and compliance tools directly to operators’ phones and tablets.
The app is designed to make risk assessments easier and documentation more accessible from anywhere. Subscribers can log in, choose their departure and arrival airports, and see weather-related risks automatically calculated for each trip. They can also add other safety considerations and create mitigations in real time.
“This is a game-changer for the industry,” said Mark Baier, Nimbl CEO. “Giving operators the ability to perform risk assessments anywhere makes it easier to adopt the system, and ultimately helps crews stay safe and come home to their families after each flight.”
While the app’s risk scoring is one of its most visible features, it also gives users a more flexible way to manage compliance documents. The “Projects” page allows clients to check the progress of their documentation, send feedback to their Nimbl advisor, and provide approvals without waiting to return to a desktop. A separate “Questionnaire” tab streamlines responses to required questions and supports direct uploading of images or documents from mobile devices, with all input automatically saved.
For operators who frequently need to reference official manuals, letters of authorization, or emergency response plans, the app’s “Docs” tab acts as a secure mobile library. All files are stored in one place and can be accessed quickly, ensuring critical information is available whenever and wherever it is needed. Users can also stay current on industry developments through the app’s “Sky Briefs” feature.
The release of the app builds on Nimbl’s long-standing goal of simplifying flight operations while strengthening safety practices. The company is already working to integrate additional modules from its web platform into the mobile version, making it easier for operators to manage all aspects of their safety management systems and compliance tasks without being tied to an office.
“We are very excited to offer operators an even more convenient way to stay up to date and safe,” Baier said. “As we roll the Nimbl app out to our subscribers, we are confident that this step to making manuals and safety management easier will result in safer, more efficient flight operations.”
Nimbl, formerly known as AviationManuals, has supported flight departments and fixed-base operators for decades with safety management systems, operations manuals, and compliance solutions. With more than 4,000 operators worldwide using its tools, the company’s mobile app marks a notable step toward a fully connected safety ecosystem for aviation professionals.
